Carbon Chemistry

This sequence explores carbon chemistry and it's practical application in new green technologies.

It is made up of nine sections:

Learning object: Fractional distillation explorer

This shows how crude oil, containing a mixture of different length chains of hydrocarbons, is split into its components using fractional distillation. Students can also find out more about the properties and uses of the different fractions.
